This vintage LE Smith amethyst carnival glass covered butter dish features the classic hobstar pattern and sharp sawtooth rim, finished in a rich purple iridescent glow that shifts beautifully between violet, gold, and subtle cobalt tones in the light. The pressed glass base measures approximately 6 3/4 inches in diameter and is marked with an “S” at the center, while the domed lid stands about 3 3/4 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. Condition is very good for its age, with one small chip on the underside of a sawtooth edge and a light surface scratch, both difficult to notice at a glance and clearly shown in photos, making this a solid collectible example that still displays beautifully.
